Robert 'Jim' Wilson
Chief Robert Wilson Joined Anderson Creek Emergency Services in July of 1975. He was active-duty military with the US Army's 82nd Airborne Division during this time, and worked his way through the ranks to Asst. Chief over the next 5 years. Chief Wilson was in the very first EMT class the department held in 1977. In January of 1980, Chief Wilson took a leave of absence from the department while on recruiting duty until 1983.
1983 & 1986, Chief Wilson again worked his way through the ranks up
to Asst. Chief, deploying once more between 1986 & 1988 to Germany.
Once back in 1988, he was home for good.
In 1994, the Board of Directors promoted him to Fire Chief, then in 1997 he was promoted once again to Chief of Department. Chief Wilson retired from the US Army in 1996 went through BLET training and went to work for the Harnett County Sheriff's Office, where he currently holds the rank of Lieutenant.
Chief Wilson is a NC Level II Firefighter, Haz-Mat Operations, NC Level II Qualified Instructor, and holds assorted command & control certifications. In addition, Chief Wilson is a Sergeant with the Harnett County Sheriff's Office, a certifed SCUBA diver with the Harnett County Underwater Search & Rescue Team, a NAUI certified SCUBA dive instructor, & a certified handicapped SCUBA dive instructor.
In addition to serving as a command officer during incidents, Chief Wilson is responsible for all operations of the department.
