Deputy Fire Chief

 

Deputy Chief Larry Nesbit started his career as a volunteer in October of 1979. Since then, he has progressed through the ranks within the fire service to his current position. Deputy Chief Nesbit is a NC Level II Firefighter, Driver-Operator (Aerials) and Haz-Mat Operations; along with other related fire fighting certifications. Deputy Chief Nesbit also has extensive training in command & control classes on both the state and national level.

Deputy Chief Nesbit has served all of his 28 years with Anderson Creek Emergency Services, having been drawn to the fire service since he was a young child. His father was a volunteer with the local rescue squad, and worked with the hometown funeral home. Many times his father allowed him to go along to calls. Since then he has been interested in the fire service.

In addition to serving as a line officer during incidents, Deputy Chief Nesbit handles many administrative duties.
